How many sessions do I need?

Often, the process can last six to eight weekly sessions. Some people come to explore issues that run a little deeper. They might engage in therapy for several months or even years.

In my practice, generally I start seeing people once a week for about a month.

What are the issues that can be addressed by therapy?

Loss, anxiety, depression, trauma, addiction and relationships are among the most common topics brought by clients.

Regardless of the intensity, severity or frequency, no issue is too small or too big to benefit from therapy.

When do I know that I should see a professional counsellor?

Pay attention to these few signs to determine if it’s time to see a therapist:

I struggle to say no.
I feel more responsible for others than for myself.
My deepest fear is being abandoned and I’ll do anything to hold onto a relationship.
I avoid conflict at all costs.
I have sex when I don’t really want to.
I have trouble starting or finishing things.
I’m ashamed of expressing strong emotions such as sadness or anger.

What effects can I expect after the process of therapy?

Therapy can help you gain a greater sense of well-being:

You are no longer controlled by income.
You’re empathetic.
Things are quieter.
You work everyday to overcome your fears.
You don’t seek praise.
You’ve raised your standards.
You no longer compare yourself to others.
